Call for Papers – DSC

ICCE 2026 Subconference on

Doctoral Student Consortium (DSC)

The Doctoral Student Consortium (DSC) has been a regular feature of ICCE conferences since ICCE 2002. This DSC will be held in conjunction with ICCE 2026 and is organized to bring together doctoral students working in the following seven areas:

  • C1: ICCE Subconference on Artificial Intelligence in Education / Intelligent Tutoring Systems (AIED/ITS) and Adaptive Learning
  • C2: ICCE Subconference on Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) and Learning Sciences
  • C3: ICCE Subconference on Advanced Learning Technologies, Learning Analytics, Platforms and Infrastructure
  • C4: ICCE Subconference on Technology Enhanced Learning for Mobility of Learners and Learning Experiences (TEML)
  • C5: ICCE Subconference on Educational Gamification and Game-based Learning (EGG)
  • C6: ICCE Subconference on Technology Enhanced Language Learning (TELL)
  • C7: ICCE Subconference on Practice‐driven Research, Teacher Professional Development, and Policy of ICT in Education (PTP)

The DSC will be held during the pre-conference days of ICCE 2026 (November 30 to December 1, 2026). The DSC aims to provide an opportunity for a selected number of doctoral students to present, discuss and receive feedback on their dissertation work-in-progress from a panel of established researchers in relevant fields. The DSC is also an opportunity for students to shape their research methodologies and analysis.

Objectives:

  • Provide feedback to participating doctoral students on their current research approach and methodology
  • Provide theme-based forums for discussing methodological and theoretical issues of central importance to different DSC themes
  • Provide guidance on future research directions
  • Nurture a supportive learning community by promoting interaction between young researchers from various institutions across different countries in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond

ELIGIBILITY

  • The submitted manuscript must be related to one of the ICCE themes (i.e., the listed ICCE subconferences above).
  • First author needs to be enrolled in a doctoral program – a submission can have the doctoral student’s (co-)supervisor(s) as co-author(s) but the first author needs to be the doctoral student.
  • First author (i.e., the doctoral student) needs to already have a chosen doctoral research topic and have started their chosen research work.

[NOTE: Doctoral students who are close to graduation, or have nearly completed their dissertation work, are advised to apply for the “Early Career Workshop” (ECW) instead of the DSC]
